I got a crazy idea. d-bus/Binder/ubus is a common pattern for inter-process communication these days. Maybe it would be interesting to provide an ubus (because it is simplest API) on top of IPFS so that various services and clients could talk to each other and call RPCs without having to know addresses of each other and so on. This could then serve to build higher-level protocols on top.
