Version information:

go-ipfs version: 0.9.0
Repo version: 11
System version: amd64/linux
Golang version: go1.16.5

Description:

  • I started the ipfs daemon using the command: ipfs daemon &. As I understand this command starts the ipfs daemon and keeps it in the background.
  • I tried to access the webui using the address: http://127.0.0.1:5001/webui in Google Chrome version: 63.0.3239.132
  • The webui did not load. It showed a blank page.
  • See following screenshot of developers console:

Both Chrome and Ubuntu are in ancient versions:

  • Chrome v63 was released in 2017 (Latest stable is v91)
  • Support for Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS expired in April 2021.

@pakjiddat Please update your Chrome ASAP, as using such old version is highly insecure, you are vulnerable to well known exploits.

Feel free to reopen if the problem is present with Chrome v91
