a PT page will be released if it doesn't contain any meaningful mappings
during PPGTT page table shrinking. The PT entry in the upper level will
be set to a scratch entry.

Normally this works nicely, but in virtualization world, the PPGTT page
table is tracked by hypervisor. Releasing the PT page before modifying
the upper level PT entry would cause extra efforts.

As the tracked page has been returned to OS before losing track from
hypervisor, it could be written in any pattern. Hypervisor has to recognize
if a page is still being used as a PT page by validating these writing
patterns. It's complicated. Better let the guest modify the PT entry in
upper level PT first, then release the PT page.

execlist_update_context() will try to update PDPs in a context before a
ELSP submission only for full PPGTT mode, while PDPs was populated during
context initialization. Now the latter code path is removed. Let
execlist_update_context() also cover !FULL_PPGTT mode.

This patch makes PPGTT page table non-shrinkable when using aliasing PPGTT
mode. It's just a temporary solution for making GVT-g work.

The current virtual edid can only support the resolution up
to 1024x768. Update the virtual edid so that can support more
resoltions. With this new virtual edid, resolution can
be up to 1920x1200.

Previously intel_gvt_init() was called very early even before
MMIO initialization which had several drawbacks:
- Have to handle MMIO access for initial MMIO state dump if golden
  state firmware is not available
- Hypervisor detection should depend on pvinfo only instead of detecting
  hypervisor status.
- Don't know hw resource size e.g aperture, ggtt size to determine
  for vGPU type, etc.

This trys to move intel_gvt_init() call late after required info
has already been initialized for GVT host.

MFN usually refers to "Machine Frame Number" in virtulization world.
Currently GVT-g populates the shadow PPGTT/GGTT page table with MFN
according to the translation between MFN and Guest PFN.

When host IOMMU is enabled, GPU DMA transactions go through the IOMMU,
GPU needs an IOVA<->MFN mapping to walk the shadow page table in host
main memory.

This patch will map a page in IOMMU page table before using it in shadow
page table and release the map when a shadow page is going to be freed.

When host i915 iommu enabled, gvt needs to use a mapped pfn in PTE entry
So before kvm returns the pfn, map this pfn and return the mapped address
which is so called iova.

gvt driver has a check which doesn't allow to use gvt when host
gpu iommu is enabled. This check can be removed after enable the

In function dispatch_workload(), if it fail before calling
intel_gvt_scan_and_shadow_wa_ctx(), the indirect ctx will
not be shadowed so no cleaup need. wa_ctx->indirect_ctx.obj
indicate whether indirect_ctx is shadowed. The obj is null
if it is unshadowed.

We need to be careful to only update addr mode for gvt shadow context
descriptor but keep other valid config. This fixes GPU hang caused by
invalid descriptor submitted for gvt workload.

For the inhibit ctx, load all mmio in render mmio list
into HW by MMIO write for ctx initialization.

For the none-inhibit ctx, only load the render mmio which
is not in_context into HW by MMIO write. Skip the MMIO write
for in_context mmio as context image will load it.

As we switched to memremap for opregion, shouldn't use any __iomem
for that, and move to use memcpy instead.

New failsafe mode is introduced, when we detect guest not supporting
GVT-g.
In failsafe mode, we will ignore all the MMIO and cfg space read/write
from guest.

This patch can fix the issue that when guest kernel or graphics driver
version is too low, there will be a lot of kernel traces in host.

Lots of reduntant log info will be printed out during GPU reset,
including accessing untracked mmio register and fence register,
variable disable_warn_untrack is added previously to handle the
situation, but the accessing of fence register is ignored in the
previously patch, so add it back.

Besides, set the variable disable_warn_untrack to the defalut value
after GPU reset is finished.

Windows guest will notitfy GVT-g to request more resources through g2v
interface, when its resources are not enough.
This patch is to handle this case and let vgpu enter failsafe mode to
avoid too many error messages.

Due to the request replay, context switch interrupt may come after
gvt free the workload thus can cause a kernel NULL pointer kernel
panic. This patch will add a simple check to avoid this for a short
term.

From long term, gvt workload lifecycle doesn't match with i915 request
and need to find a proper way to manage this.

send_display_send_uevent() sends two environment variable, and the
first one GVT_DISPLAY_READY is set including a new line at the end of
the string; that is obviously superfluous and wrong -- at least, it
*looks* so when you only read the code.

However, it doesn't appear in the actual output by a (supposedly
unexpected) trick.  The code uses snprintf() and truncates the string
in size 20 bytes.  This makes the string as GVT_DISPLAY_READY=0 or
...=1 including the trailing NUL-letter.  That is, the '\n' found in
the format string is always cut off as a result.

Although the code gives the correct result, it is confusing.  This
patch addresses it, just removing the superfluous '\n' from the format
string for avoiding further confusion.  If the argument "ready" were
not a  bool, the size 20 should be corrected as well.  But it's a
bool, so we can leave the magic number 20 as is for now.

FWIW, the bug was spotted by a new GCC7 warning:

Manual revert of commit f598a49 ("iova: Add CPU hotplug handler to
flush rcaches").  It is trying to instantiate a cpuhp notifier from inside
a cpuhp callback.  That code replaced intel_iommu implementation of
flushing per-IOVA domain CPU rcaches which used a single instance of cpuhp
held for the module lifetime.

We do generally the right thing here, copying the references into a
temporary buffer, however we are still holding the path when we do
copy_to_user from the temporary buffer.  Fix this by freeing the path
before we copy to user space.

netfslib has a number of places in which it performs iteration of an xarray
whilst being under the RCU read lock.  It *should* call xas_retry() as the
first thing inside of the loop and do "continue" if it returns true in case
the xarray walker passed out a special value indicating that the walk needs
to be redone from the root[*].

Fix this by adding the missing retry checks.

[*] I wonder if this should be done inside xas_find(), xas_next_node() and
    suchlike, but I'm told that's not an simple change to effect.

This can cause an oops like that below.  Note the faulting address - this
is an internal value (|0x2) returned from xarray.

Recent commit aa626da ("iavf: Detach device during reset task")
removed netif_tx_stop_all_queues() with an assumption that Tx queues
are already stopped by netif_device_detach() in the beginning of
reset task. This assumption is incorrect because during reset
task a potential link event can start Tx queues again.
Revert this change to fix this issue.

Reproducer:
1. Run some Tx traffic (e.g. iperf3) over iavf interface
2. Switch MTU of this interface in a loop

After commit aa626da ("iavf: Detach device during reset task")
the device is detached during reset task and re-attached at its end.
The problem occurs when reset task fails because Tx queues are
restarted during device re-attach and this leads later to a crash.

To resolve this issue properly close the net device in cause of
failure in reset task to avoid restarting of tx queues at the end.
Also replace the hacky manipulation with IFF_UP flag by device close
that clears properly both IFF_UP and __LINK_STATE_START flags.
In these case iavf_close() does not do anything because the adapter
state is already __IAVF_DOWN.

1) Run some Tx traffic (e.g. iperf3) over iavf interface
2) Set VF trusted / untrusted in loop

To avoid using mode holding ldev->lock in the configure flow, we queue a
work to the lag workqueue and cease wait on a completion object.

In addition, we remove the lock from mlx5_lag_do_mirred() since it is
not really protecting anything.

When logging an inode in full mode, or when logging xattrs or when logging
the dir index items of a directory, we are modifying the log tree while
holding a read lock on a leaf from the fs/subvolume tree. This can lead to
a deadlock in rare circumstances, but it is a real possibility, and it was

Holding a read lock on a leaf from a fs/subvolume tree creates a nasty
lock dependency when we are COWing extent buffers for the log tree and we
have two tasks modifying the log tree, with each one in one of the
following 2 scenarios:

1) Modifying the log tree triggers an extent buffer allocation while
   holding a write lock on a parent extent buffer from the log tree.
   Allocating the pages for an extent buffer, or the extent buffer
   struct, can trigger inode eviction and finally the inode eviction
   will trigger a release/remove of a delayed node, which requires
   taking the delayed node's mutex;

2) Allocating a metadata extent for a log tree can trigger the async
   reclaim thread and make us wait for it to release enough space and
   unblock our reservation ticket. The reclaim thread can start flushing
   delayed items, and that in turn results in the need to lock delayed
   node mutexes and in the need to write lock extent buffers of a
   subvolume tree - all this while holding a write lock on the parent
   extent buffer in the log tree.

So one task in scenario 1) running in parallel with another task in
scenario 2) could lead to a deadlock, one wanting to lock a delayed node
mutex while having a read lock on a leaf from the subvolume, while the
other is holding the delayed node's mutex and wants to write lock the same
subvolume leaf for flushing delayed items.

Fix this by cloning the leaf of the fs/subvolume tree, release/unlock the
fs/subvolume leaf and use the clone leaf instead.

Manual revert of commit f598a49 ("iova: Add CPU hotplug handler to
flush rcaches").  It is trying to instantiate a cpuhp notifier from inside
a cpuhp callback.  That code replaced intel_iommu implementation of
flushing per-IOVA domain CPU rcaches which used a single instance of cpuhp
held for the module lifetime.

Now that rxrpc_put_local() may call kthread_stop(), it can't be called
under spinlock as it might sleep.  This can cause a problem in the peer
keepalive code in rxrpc as it tries to avoid dropping the peer_hash_lock
from the point it needs to re-add peer->keepalive_link to going round the
loop again in rxrpc_peer_keepalive_dispatch().

Fix this by just dropping the lock when we don't need it and accepting that
we'll have to take it again.  This code is only called about every 20s for
each peer, so not very often.

This allows rxrpc_put_peer_unlocked() to be removed also.

If triggered, this bug produces an oops like the following, as reproduced
by a syzbot reproducer for a different oops[1]:

The cited commit changed class of tc_ht internal mutex in order to avoid
false lock dependency with fs_core node and flow_table hash table
structures. However, hash table implementation internally also includes a
workqueue task with its own lockdep map which causes similar bogus lockdep
splat[0]. Fix it by also adding dedicated class for hash table workqueue
work structure of tc_ht.

The commit 4af1b64 ("octeontx2-pf: Fix lmtst ID used in aura
free") uses the get/put_cpu() to protect the usage of percpu pointer
in ->aura_freeptr() callback, but it also unnecessarily disable the
preemption for the blockable memory allocation. The commit 87b93b6
("octeontx2-pf: Avoid use of GFP_KERNEL in atomic context") tried to
fix these sleep inside atomic warnings. But it only fix the one for

Of course, we can shuffle the get/put_cpu() to only wrap the invocation
of ->aura_freeptr() as what commit 87b93b6 does. But there are only
two ->aura_freeptr() callbacks, otx2_aura_freeptr() and
cn10k_aura_freeptr(). There is no usage of perpcu variable in the
otx2_aura_freeptr() at all, so the get/put_cpu() seems redundant to it.
We can move the get/put_cpu() into the corresponding callback which
really has the percpu variable usage and avoid the sprinkling of
get/put_cpu() in several places.

Manual revert of commit f598a49 ("iova: Add CPU hotplug handler to
flush rcaches").  It is trying to instantiate a cpuhp notifier from inside
a cpuhp callback.  That code replaced intel_iommu implementation of
flushing per-IOVA domain CPU rcaches which used a single instance of cpuhp
held for the module lifetime.

&xdp_buff and &xdp_frame are bound in a way that

xdp_buff->data_hard_start == xdp_frame

It's always the case and e.g. xdp_convert_buff_to_frame() relies on
this.
IOW, the following:

shouldn't ever modify @xdpf's contents or the pointer itself.
However, "live packet" code wrongly treats &xdp_frame as part of its
context placed *before* the data_hard_start. With such flow,
data_hard_start is sizeof(*xdpf) off to the right and no longer points
to the XDP frame.

Instead of replacing `sizeof(ctx)` with `offsetof(ctx, xdpf)` in several
places and praying that there are no more miscalcs left somewhere in the
code, unionize ::frm with ::data in a flex array, so that both starts
pointing to the actual data_hard_start and the XDP frame actually starts
being a part of it, i.e. a part of the headroom, not the context.
A nice side effect is that the maximum frame size for this mode gets
increased by 40 bytes, as xdp_buff::frame_sz includes everything from
data_hard_start (-> includes xdpf already) to the end of XDP/skb shared
info.
Also update %MAX_PKT_SIZE accordingly in the selftests code. Leave it
hardcoded for 64 bit && 4k pages, it can be made more flexible later on.

Minor: align `&head->data` with how `head->frm` is assigned for
consistency.
Minor #2: rename 'frm' to 'frame' in &xdp_page_head while at it for
clarity.

(was found while testing XDP traffic generator on ice, which calls
 xdp_convert_frame_to_buff() for each XDP frame)

This deadlock occurs because cancel_delayed_work_sync() waits for
the work(&lgr->free_work) to finish, while the &lgr->free_work
waits for the work(lgr->tx_wq), which needs the sk_lock-AF_SMC, that
is already used under the mutex_lock.

The solution is to use cancel_delayed_work() instead, which kills
off a pending work.

The naming of space_info->active_total_bytes is misleading. It counts
not only active block groups but also full ones which are previously
active but now inactive. That confusion results in a bug not counting
the full BGs into active_total_bytes on mount time.

For a background, there are three kinds of block groups in terms of
activation.

  1. Block groups never activated
  2. Block groups currently active
  3. Block groups previously active and currently inactive (due to fully
     written or zone finish)

What we really wanted to exclude from "total_bytes" is the total size of
BGs #1. They seem empty and allocatable but since they are not activated,
we cannot rely on them to do the space reservation.

And, since BGs #1 never get activated, they should have no "used",
"reserved" and "pinned" bytes.

OTOH, BGs #3 can be counted in the "total", since they are already full
we cannot allocate from them anyway. For them, "total_bytes == used +
reserved + pinned + zone_unusable" should hold.

Tracking #2 and #3 as "active_total_bytes" (current implementation) is
confusing. And, tracking #1 and subtract that properly from "total_bytes"
every time you need space reservation is cumbersome.

Instead, we can count the whole region of a newly allocated block group as
zone_unusable. Then, once that block group is activated, release
[0 ..  zone_capacity] from the zone_unusable counters. With this, we can
eliminate the confusing ->active_total_bytes and the code will be common
among regular and the zoned mode. Also, no additional counter is needed
with this approach.

The check introduced in the commit a5fd394 ("igc: Lift TAPRIO schedule
restriction") can detect a false positive error in some corner case.
For instance,

Here the queue#0 (the first queue) is on at the slot#1 and #2,
and off at the slot#3 and #4. Under the current logic, when the slot#4
is examined, validate_schedule() returns *false* since the enablement
count for the queue#0 is two and it is already off at the previous slot
(i.e. #3). But this definition is truely correct.

Let's fix the logic to enforce a strict validation for consecutively-opened
slots.

During reboot all drivers PM shutdown callbacks are invoked.
In iavf_shutdown() the adapter state is changed to __IAVF_REMOVE.
In ice_shutdown() the call chain above is executed, which at some point
calls iavf_remove(). However iavf_remove() expects the VF to be in one
of the states __IAVF_RUNNING, __IAVF_DOWN or __IAVF_INIT_FAILED. If
that's not the case it sleeps forever.
So if iavf_shutdown() gets invoked before iavf_remove() the system will
hang indefinitely because the adapter is already in state __IAVF_REMOVE.

Fix this by returning from iavf_remove() if the state is __IAVF_REMOVE,
as we already went through iavf_shutdown().
