Windows 7 - what is needed?

The Windows distribution works well on Windows 10. What is needed (steps) to have it work on Windows 7?

Did you try running on Win 7 yet? What error does it give if any?

icloudpd for windows is compiled as 64bit, so if you are running Win 7 on 32-bit hardware, you may try to use pip, which should run from source code.

Tried it on multiple WIndows 7 64-Bit machines with latest service pack and updates. Running icloudpd or icloud (the exe) in the CMD results in a hang - no activity and no error. Command Window must be closed to terminate.

On Windows 10 when ran in CMD - works as expected.

Assuming that Windows 10 has something that is missing in Windows 7 that allows it to run???

Found "Note that Python 3.12.3 cannot be used on Windows 7 or earlier." on https://www.python.org/downloads/windows/

That means icloudpd binary cannot be used on Windows 7 as it uses python 3.12 internally.

However, icloudpd source should work with python as early as 3.8. Python 3.8 is the last that supports Windows 7 according to the link above. My suggestion of installing python and then using pip seems like the next best option for you.
