virtual desktop initialization is failed - 2024-01 23H2 Update (KB5034123)
tried reinstalling and tried to delete .dll - but no chance. error still showing up over and over again.

Same here. While waiting for a hotfix, any workaround as I have already updated Windows 11 with the latest updates?

EDIT: There is a similar tool (yet basic compared to SylphyHornPlusWin11) where they managed to solve a similar issue in their version 1.16. If someone is interested to explore until the issue is resolved here.

Can we please stop posting "same here" replies. There are 👍 buttons to express that you're affected as well, and you can follow this issue to be notified of the progress. The maintainer is either aware of this issue or not, but these replies will not move the resolution forward. They only create bothering notifications for followers.

Please try the test binary with support for build 22621.3085 or later.
(But unfortunately, I have no time to test enough now)

Just installed and running on build 22631.3155.

Lags for a few seconds when opening the settings but program does run ok for now. Will report back any issues.

P.S. don't ever be sorry!! I'm sure I speak for most when I say we're grateful for your time and effort on this project!!

I had this same issue and the test binary seems to have fixed it!

I've tested on multiple devices. As previously noted it does take longer to start the app but it's working fine for me. Thanks for the update!

Windows forced my update so I found the latest thread. Not sure if this is helpful, but the previous installation started working after I executed the new one.

I downloaded the test binary and extracted into a new folder. I ran the new executable and it started up just fine. I exited the application and tried running the previous version I had installed. Strangely, it also worked just fine! I made no modifications to any files in that folder. How odd.

I'm sad to say that it appears this test binary has now stopped working with the latest 22631.3235 update.
Hoping for your continued assistance.

@nightime7 I tested the binary on build 22631.3235 (also 22631.3296, 22621.3296) and it seems to work well on my system.

Please try to delete cache data (VirtualDesktop.*****.generated.dll) at %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\hwtnb.net\SylphyHorn\assemblies, and restart SylphyHornPlus.

I just deleted the data file and now SylphyHorn is running without error messages. Good job!

@hwtnb Thanks a lot for your work. Do you mind publishing a release? I have set up an automated download and installation and would prefer not to install the application manually.

@igorakkerman Understandable if it was an installer, but you could just pull zip file link above or from S3? But it would be good to have a new release just so that new users wouldn't immediately experience issues and give up with it.
