Consider adding a comments section to each page #285
Comments
I see that a lot of static website build with Jekyll use disqus. We could use it or write a similar service based on OSM ids. |
I think we should look for a different way for people to make suggestions or ask questions. The first version of LearnOSM had comments, but most of them ended up making the site not look very clean. Maybe a big "Help" button that goes to a forum or somewhere else that people could make comments. We could track which page they were coming from though to make the context more clear. |
It could be build on a separate page/section that use a commenting system. (Personally, I don't like forums because they are too complicated, have a different logic and look and feel comparing to the initial site. They are not well integrated with the original site.) For information, this tool could be interesting ? Juvia is an open source commenting system. [It] is similar to Disqus and IntenseDebate. Other notable highlights:
PS: you could see it in action at the end of this article of Pierre Chrzanowski: |
I recently came across this active forum site for OSM if that's still an option. https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/ |
I think we should consider adding something simple like Discuss to each page. That would reduce a lot of barriers for people asking questions or making suggestions.
