Some nice work you did here, I like the ideas you put into this!

I don't know if the toml format is known to you, but it may be worth comparing to it in your table. Maybe deep nesting or "high-order composition" will be harder in toml, but it is a very convenient format that is gaining a lot of interest.
It's just a suggestion and I'm no expert here, but it may be worth making sure your format is not trying to fill a gap that's already filled.

Thanks for suggesting Toml. It's my first time getting know it.

Just a quick glance at it, I think it looks like Windows INI file. It might be good for configuration files, but hard for other usecases that need more complex nested structure, as you indicated. And it has definitely built up a good community around it, which Mark can learn from.
