Changing Horizontal Grid Resolution for HAFS-A Model

Hello everyone,

I would like to modify the horizontal grid resolution of the HAFS-A model to observe its impacts. To start with, I am focusing on a configuration without nesting and without ocean coupling. For now, my goal is to increase the resolution, for example, by doubling it.

Could you please guide me on which variables or parameters in the configuration files need to be modified to achieve this? Do I need to adjust the output grid setting too in the config file for increased resolution?

Any documentation references or step-by-step guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I just wanted to touch base here. We spoke to the HAFS developers at their biweekly developer meeting, and it seems that they are all pretty oversubscribed working on improvements for HAFS v2.1. I will leave this issue open in the hope that they will eventually be able to respond. However, I don't anticipate an answer soon. :-/ That said, I'd recommend looking at the HAFS regression test configurations and the HAFS-related configurations in the UFS WM. You may be able to deduce some of the appropriate parameters from those tests.
