Rules have always been saved to /etc/opensnitchd/rules until v1.6.4. If you happened to save the events to a DB on disk, you could go to the Rules tab, right click on the rules and select "Apply to ..." or make any change (enable/disable) and the rules will be applied. Otherwise... :/
After v1.6.5 you can configure the rules path from the configuration.
Thank you.
I have always tried the following some weeks ago:
Made a backup of the folder "/etc/opensnitchd/rules" on my usb-stick
Changed my Linux System/version
Instaled Opensnitch 1.5.8 in my new Linux system
Copied the content of the backup into the folder "/etc/opensnitchd/rules" on my new Linux system
But it has looked like, I would have to copy the whole folder "/etc/opensnitchd/". Otherwise it has not followed these old rules.
you could go to the Rules tab, right click on the rules and select "Apply to ..."
What makes this?
Can a save the rule(s) on an USB stick this way to get a backup?
Or what does "apply to unix:local" mean?
Or can I this way choose a user defined folder (in my local home) for my rules?
Where do Opensnitch version 1.5.2 and 1.5.8 save the rules? Not in home?
I have changed the Linux version by preserving my old home.
But now it looks like all my rules are deleted.
