Mobile view (horizontal/larger window size) loading issue and error #273
Comments
@johnsisland Can you try closing some of your tabs? Your phone might be running of of memory. I just swiped and tapped my way through without problem. The only difference I see is the number of tabs. |
Nope, still doing it. With no other tab open.
I am loading the listing detail page, turning my phone horizontally, moving the image area into view, then start tapping the right arrow to advance. Immediate had the error.
|
Still haven't been able to reproduce this. I have an ipad at the shop that I'm going to grab when I go in tonight. I'll try it on that one. |
@johnsisland can you take a look at this and tell me if I'm doing something differently than you? https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4iIzV21stRPUnVRV2xKb1dtVXM |
Can't get this movie to play. The window's progress circle just goes around and around. I've confirmed I have internet connection so I don't know what else to do.
|
What are you trying to open it in? I'm playing it in Quicktime and it works fine |
I thought I could just play it from there. sorry. I have to download it then open it on my computer? Will do.
|
You should be able to play it from there, but should and the Internet don't always go together |
I think I found out how to recreate the error. What you had said at the beginning of your slideshow made me wonder if I was starting to advance the listing slideshow, then turning my phone, and I am. Sometimes I advance the slideshow right away without turning the phone b/c I'm in a hurry and don't need to study a photo, but when I get to a photo and need to see it closer, I may turn the phone. Then continue advancing and the error starts.
I tested two scenarios:
Load slideshow then,
1) start advancing slideshow and then turned clockwise/counterclockwise = Error occurs and keeps occurring. If you refresh, the error keeps occurring
2) turn clockwise/counterclockwise and start advancing slideshow = Successful (no errors)
I'll keep testing this, but I'm pretty sure that's the issue.
|
Per our call, you can't replicate the problem. Still outstanding. |
@johnsisland Here's my latest attempt to reproduce: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9hi6oit99jmtgdo/IMG_1288.MOV.mov?dl=0 |
I was able to record my iPhone 7 plus error when viewing our listing slideshows in horizontal view: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lxr5v4f05hxd6d2/2017-0217_MobileSlideshowViewIssue.MOV?dl=0 |
Robyn, can you try this? http://ccm.net/faq/16509-ipad-2-safari-enable-the-debug-console https://www.lifewire.com/activate-the-debug-console-in-safari-445798 And let me know what if anything the console shows? |
I looked at both links using my iPhone 7 and don't see "debug" option. Just: Website Data, JavaScript (enabled) and Web Inspector (disabled)
|
@johnsisland We didn't discuss this one this week. Should I leave it open? |
yes please. It's still not working correctly on my iphone

Now that we're getting more traffic to our website due to our weekly eblasts and with season upon us, we are finding a loading issue with the listing's detail page's slideshow.
If you review a listing's detail page (any of them) with a mobile device - but turn it horizontally and advance through the slideshow - you'll get through a few photos then it stops, gives you an error, tries to reload, but doesn't work and then gives you a full screen error message. If you hit the back button or refresh, it takes you back to the main "LISTINGS" page and you lose the page of the specific listing you were viewing.
I've tested this on my iPhone 7 plus, an older iPhone 5 and an old iPad - with the view turned horizontally (to enjoy the large photo slideshow) - and it does this every time. See screen shots attached of the error. I had tested several random listings, but the screen shots show the listing: http://www.johnsislandrealestate.com/listings/321-palmetto-point
