Acknowledgments
Please check the following boxes with an x if they apply:

  • The feature I want to propose would be useful for the majority of users, not only for me personally.
  • I am aware that Transportr is mostly developed by one person in their unpaid spare time.
  • I can help myself to get this feature implemented or know someone who wants to do it.
  • If I want to add support for a new region or country, I checked that this is already available in public-transport-enabler and know the process described on the Transportr homepage.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The public transport network in Windhoek is not available yet

Describe the solution you'd like
Add Windhoek

Describe alternatives you've considered

Additional context
I'm in touch with the City of Windhoek and they provided me with all necessary data of their public transport system (except of the fares). However, they don't have a GTFS file of the transport data so I created it with the help of the static GTFS manager (see attachment). I now have the problem that I have no clue of coding. Hence, I need support on how to add the city to the app. Is there any way, someone can support me?

Nice work! Please have a look at the Transportr website on how to add new regions. The next step for you would be to contact Navitia and ask them to add your GTFS to their coverage. As soon as the region is available on Navitia, feel free to report back here.

I did that already, I'm just not overly confident about it as they recently declined to add Belgrade. Not sure whether Windhoek is then interesting enough for them. But we'll see :)

Hi everyone! Unfortunately, I did not get any response from Navitia (https://groups.google.com/g/navitia/c/5lwGDWDCG70). It seems that there are a few responses but they're all deleted. Is there any way now to make my data available?

I eventually received a response from them. Unfortunately, the data set is not on their priority list which is why they do not integrate in on their server.
I now tried to host my own Navitia server but this exceeds my autodidactic abilities by far. Is there any way someone can help me in a rather easy way?

I'll give it one last try: I really want to incorporate Windhoek in the app but don't know how as Navitia refused to add it on their server and I don't know how to run my own Navitia server. I'd really appreciate your support!

I'm sorry I can't help you much more on that :( We're already struggling with existing networks that break, and are only a few people working on Transportr on our spare time. (And myself haven't added a network from scratch to Transportr, so can't help you out on that.)
