We should also integrate Quilkin into the project, with it's existing Agones integration.

There is a new Unreal Client side SDK coming that we should probably wait for however.

But this would include:

  • Unreal client side integration
  • Switch to private GKE clusters
  • Deploy Quilkin proxy and xDS control planes to each cluster (unless we want our proxies to be multi-cluster?), with a public UDP load balancer.
  • Add routing tokens to matchmaking information to pass back to the clients to append to packets via Unreal client.
  • Add said routing tokens to the game servers as well.

There are a few other options for how we could do this, so above is a sacrificial draft.
