PLEASE READ: If you have a support contract with Google, please create an issue in the support console instead of filing on GitHub. This will ensure a timely response.

NOTE: Google Cloud Python client libraries are no longer maintained inside this repository. Please visit the python-API repository (e.g., https://github.com/googleapis/python-pubsub/issues) for faster response times.

See all published libraries in the README.

Thanks for filing this! We are working on protobuf 5 support, and will update the libraries (and this issue) when ready.

Any update on when this is likely to be completed?
It has been almost 3 months since protobuf 5.26.0 was released so I am surprised that this has taken so long.

So now that python-api-core and gapic-generator-python have been updated to support protobuf 5.0 is there anything to stop hold this up now?
