Disclaimer: I apologize in advance if this should be considered bad style or if the following opinion should offend anyone.
To anyone actively using this code base. In case you have not noticed, there is a (relatively) new and complete rewrite of the upstream Java project to c++ available at https://github.com/zxing-cpp/zxing-cpp.
Two years ago already it has been suggested to try to make that the 'official' c++ port. Since then we have spend many man months of improvements on the code base which lead to a 2-10x faster decoding performance and also more a reliable detection.
I noticed that this project here has quite a few active forks but seems to be semi abandoned itself. I'd like to encourage all to have a look at 'our' project and if this one here is indeed considered abandoned by the owner, then maybe even add a pointer to zxing-cpp/zxing-cpp in the README?
EDIT: nu-book/zxing-cpp is now hosted under zxing-cpp/zxing-cpp
