I would like to propose two simple changes to make Cherrytree more user-friendly.

  1. Double clicking on a node should open node properties menu. Pressing Fn + F2 or selecting from the drop-down isn't really intuitive, especially given that the dropdown is a bit long and has many items.

  2. Changing the order of the nodes and how they're nested is a bit difficult. When you try to drag a node above or below another, there are faint outlines that change color depending on whether or not the node is being nested. They're a bit hard to see, so I would recommend implementing indicators that are more visible. It's easy to mix up two colored outlines and I do it all the time.

Suggestion
Toolbar > Tree > Node Move
and use the commands rather than dragging nodes.

If you are uncomfortable with running commands (I'm in Linux) then use a front end UI GUI for custom actions.
Actiona is easy to team with CherryTree. Or you can use Albert (Linux) or equivalent in your desktop. Toolchain is the way to go rather than piling on new features.
