Url param passing .rest() with 'http'/'https' is not being parsed correctly #2

Using a url value that begins with 'https' or 'http':
sprLib.rest({ url:'https://officetest.sharepoint.com/_api/web/sitegroups' })is being sent to SP with a prepended "/"
