ran curl installer which was successful at download but got systemd error and then long list of errors when sdm is run

this is on ubuntu mate 14.04.6 LTS

realpath is, I thought, a standard command found on every linux system. If it's not on your system, then you'll need to find the package that it's in on your Ubuntu system. On Debian it's in the coreutils package, no clue where it is on Ubuntu.

That said, if you're really running ubuntu mate 14.04.6 LTS you're bound to have other problems since that's a VERY old system.

OTOH if you're actually running ubuntu mate 24.04.6 LTS then you should be OK once you find and install the package containing realpath.
