GeekLink — Mac-native batch subtitle factory built on whisper.cpp

Thanks to everyone who contributed to whisper.cpp — it made building a full subtitle app on macOS possible without requiring users to install Python, ffmpeg, or anything else.

GeekLink is a native macOS app for Apple Silicon that wraps whisper.cpp into a complete subtitle production pipeline:

• Batch processing — Import 50+ videos and transcribe them all at once. Each video gets its own SRT with synced timestamps.
• Built-in subtitle editor — Waveform display, timeline editing, search & replace, merge/split segments.
• AI translation — Translate subtitles to 40+ languages after transcription.
• Subtitle burn-in — Customize font, color, size, position and render subtitles permanently into the video. Also supports batch burn-in.
• OCR extraction — Extract hardcoded/burned-in subtitles from video frames (for videos that only have baked-in text).
• 100% local transcription — All speech recognition runs on-device. No cloud upload, no API key needed.

The app has a free tier — speech recognition works with no time limits. Free exports include a small GeekLink credit line; Pro removes it and unlocks translation + burn-in.

I built this because I needed to process dozens of videos at a time and couldn't find a tool that handled the full transcribe → translate → edit → burn-in workflow in one place without uploading to the cloud.
