Hi,
Im currently looking at building a ground station co-hosting meshtastic and GxAirCom.
For the meshtastic hardware, I'll be using the Meshtastic RAK starter kit with the Nordic nRF52840 processor (RAK4361 module). This is more ideal than ESP32 based processors as it uses significantly less power. The board also has a solar controller on it, I thin this makes it the ideal ground station. Radio is a SX1262 and is avalible in our band (868-915).
I would love to run GxAirCom on this hardware too (seperate unit) - for the same reasons (mostly power efficiency). Im a beginner with platform.io and kinda have little idea of where to start. I understand this would require a lot of code modification as this hardware does not support WIFI. I can see this being an issue with regards to configuration etc. Idea here might be a configuration file or config in code.
For my case, this will be a hill top node running a weather station without cellular connectivity as ill connect to it over fanet with a base node on wifi at home (powered).
Is there any work toward supporting the Nordic processors?
As always, I super appreciate the developers work on such an awesome project.
Regards from NZ, Mike.
