Should we consider reframing this a "regular QC" and "QC plus verify Bam ID"? It can get unwieldy to name pipeline files by what's not in them and we somewhat often take an existing process and wrap another step along with it. That could be useful here, though it does possibly mean changing the name on the run: line of everything calling the QC.

Something is wrong. this PR was not intended to have commit 5f6cf43. I'll have to close this and make a new one. For now, WIP.
