  • For key tasks, translate steps priorly taken in VeuPathDb into steps taken in Galaxy-NCBI.
  • Start with content from the 3 VeuPathDb user walk-through meetings on Aug 29 and Sep 5.
  • Illustrate with side-by-side screenshots and simple wording.
  • Comments welcome in this Google Drive folder (and snippet below).
  • Also with: @scottcain @nakucher

Clarifying questions:

  1. Discourse "Help" portal is best place for this? Likely won't be evolved (nor involved) enough for a GTN tutorial or is there somewhere on the GTN this makes sense to put...?
  2. Possibly make most popular workflows into public-shared?
  3. Of the below scheduled "translations", which are highest priority -for example, maybe the least likely to be done quickly on brc-analytics.org (might include other topics outside of the walk-through meetings):

How-to Guides in Galaxy-NCBI (in order of priority pending):

  • Finding GO annotations. (User on Sep 5)
  • Finding EC (enzyme code? evidence code?) terms. (User on Sep 5)
  • Finding evidence codes for annotations. (User on Sep 5)
  • Finding structure-to-function relationship to help annotate unannotated proteins using AlphaFold. (User on Sep 5)
  • Download GFF in proteome. (User on Sep 5)
  • Looking at SNPs that have been deposited from whole genome sequencing. (User on Sep 5)
  • Running BLAST. (User on Sep 5)
  • View details for the gene, especially: gene location in the chromosome. (User on Aug 29)
  • View details for the gene, especially: gene location in the transcriptomics. (User on Aug 29)
  • View details for the gene, especially: gene location in the phenotypes. (User on Aug 29)
  • Take list of gene IDs (or any input) and corroborate it with any other datatype that is already pre-loaded. (User on Aug 29)
  • Results of search that are: savable, copyable, shareable, and can be made public/private. (User on Aug 29)
