Allow customization of list popup

Allow users to customise what is in the list popup (the one that appears with the Alt + R shortcut). Users should be able to decide which schemes appear in the list and in which order. This means that even schemes that are not currently "selected" can be added to the list. Modifier keys should continue to work as they do currently, except that the "quick switch scheme" option does not necessarily need to work.

The list can be configured in the Randomness configurable, so the list of data types will be removed there. The configurable should have two columns: selected on the left, available on the right. The left shows the items currently in the list (can be more than 8?), and the right shows all available schemes as [type] - [name], e.g. String - Default or Integer - Hex. Alternatively, instead of giving them names that contain the type, the left side should be a hierarchy of groups that the user can create. Not sure what the right side would look like though.

I should figure out how to treat array settings. Array schemes in the tooltip cannot be executed because they do not have an underlying type (e.g. integer). Maybe array settings should be left as they currently are: a separate setting with a current scheme; users have to change the scheme somewhere (with quick switch, in settings dialog, etc.).

In this case, selecting an array scheme in the tooltip would change the current scheme to the selected one, and would then not close the tooltip. If so, this would require indicating which array scheme is currently active in the tooltip somehow.
Alternatively, disallow users from adding array schemes to the list popup, and always keep the Array settings action at the bottom.

Here's what (I think) would be a nice layout for the menu

(This is an image of the "Run/Debug" configurations in IntelliJ with two generic "random generators", which are just unnamed gradle tasks.)
It seems perfect for this because each section is divided into menus and submenus, you're able to move things around, and you can add/remove things. Idk if there's a template or not for this in IntelliJ, but I'd assume there is. (If not, you can just find the code and rip it out because it's FOSS)

You would then be able to

• Set the name
• Set the icon
• Set the group (so they're in the "Gradle" group in this example. I'm too lazy to edit that, but by default you could have a "Random Integer" group, with the following sub-items: "Random Integer", "Random Integer Array", "Random Repeated Integer", and "Random Repeated Integer Array" as the items in that group.)

I like the layout and the idea of using custom names, groups, and icons, but the remaining issue is that this interface doesn't let the user create a custom popup. The user should be able to select and order 10(?) of the created configurations which will appear in the popup and can then be selected using the digits 0 through 9.

My original idea was to use something like in the following image (taken from this StackOverflow post), which I thought I had seen elsewhere in the IntelliJ settings but I can't find it anymore. On the left the user has the available selections, and the user can move a maximum of 9 elements to the right. Furthermore, the user can change the order of the elements to the right. Unlike the StackOverflow post, elements do not disappear from the left column if you move them to the right.

An alternative would be to create a large table similar to dictionaries, and then always select the top 10 elements from the list to be in the popup. However, this may be difficult to communicate clearly to users; simply adding a divider below the 10th element and/or a note is not clear enough in my opinion. An advantage of this method, however, would be that it could be used to embed the configuration of the selected entry next to the table, for example as seen in the following screenshot.

I think a usable, pretty solution may lie in combining my first solution and your solution, which would mean having separate dialogs (putting them underneath would be confusing). On the left, the user has essentially what you showed: a hierarchy of groups and configurations. The user can reorder, rename, and configure them. In the middle are arrows for moving (copying?) the selected configuration to the left or right. On the right is a plain list of the configurations that appear in the popup. Double-clicking it will open the settings for that configuration, just like double-clicking on the left would.

In the example I gave, you are able to move the different items up and down. (Though, only the items within groups. Ideally, you'd also be able to move the groups themselves.)
I feel having them all in a single dialogue with dropdowns (like a file tree) would be more intuitive than having 2 dialogues.

That's the issue. I can move up the group, but what if I want to enable one type from one group and one from another group?

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to give here as an example.
Every single item in that list is "enabled", and to "disable" it, you'd just delete the item from this list. And if you want to add new ones, you'd press a "new" button, which opens an empty template that you can then configure. The "groups" there only determine how the menu is going to be laid out.
Here's a scuffed example I made (based on the current layout):

So it's basically a "tree" of all the different types you have access to (but "___ Settings" and "Quick Switch" menu items will also be added.)
And then really, you should just remove the whole "Quick Switch" thing, as you'd have all your options in that layout. So here's a theoretical example someone might have for their "Integers" group:

Oh I see. I hadn't understood that the hierarchy would be replicated in the popup. It's an interesting suggestion, but also means that users will have to press more buttons before they can insert something; e.g. to insert "random integer array", users will have to press the right arrow and then four down arrows. It would require a complicated control scheme to streamline that, which I'm not sure is nice to use. I'll look into it.

Maybe if you click on the "Random Integers" group, you can set the default item to be run, if they don't select an item from the submenu?
