Setting up MSP OSD with Betaflight

Joonas Trussmann edited this page Jul 20, 2023 · 16 revisions

Prerequisites

  1. Install DJI Assistant V2 for FPV
    • This will install the drivers so Windows knows how to interact with the devices when they are plugged in via USB. After running the installer, you don't need to actually run DJI Assistant unless you need to upgrade your firmware to the supported version.

Steps

  1. Activate your devices with DJI FPV Assistant 2 if you haven't done so already.

  2. Plug in goggles to USB, power on

  3. Navigate to https://fpv.wtf

    • Click Root, follow prompts.
    • Run install wftos, follow prompts.
    • Install packages
      • MSP OSD
  4. Turn off Custom OSD in DJI menus to avoid duplicate elements

  5. Plug in air unit/lite to USB, power on

  6. Navigate to https://fpv.wtf

    • Click Root, follow prompts.
    • Run install wftos, follow prompts.
    • Install packages
      • MSP OSD
  7. Plug FC into usb and setup OSD on the FC:

  8. Confirm that everything is working:

    1. Turn on goggles (without them being plugged in via USB)
    2. Turn on air unit (as always, make sure it has a fan blowing over it while on the bench or it will eventually overheat.)
    3. In a moment, the betaflight OSD should appear.
  9. Repeat steps 5-8 for all air units/flight controllers with which you want to use MSP-OSD.
