Q: When I try to update it goes through all the steps but I cant get to the latest version after a reboot

A: Make sure you are using the latest version from this github. Go to settings in RGBPi-Extra and remove and reboot, delete the RGBPi-Extra folder and download the installer from this github

Q: I get a black screen when booting OS4 now

A: sometimes this happens with OS4 in general. Delete all the data files in your dats folder. Backup your favorites if needed.

Q: I still have issues after uninstalling rgbpi-extra

A: You probably created a RetroArch config that is being used for a folder/core/rom. Go to your usb drive and remove any custom configs you created.

Q: How does this all work?

A:

  • RGBPi OS runs on Bullseye aarch64
  • It uses a custom kernel driver for the GPIO output
  • I created a custom RetroArch build that applies and appends configs.
