Checkpoint: Taking output of one simulation as initial conditions for another

Hello,
I'm currently working with a water current simulation around an obstacle. Is it possible to take the output of one simulation run (velocity, pressure, gradient info) and make it the initial conditions of a new run? Not sure if loading Checkpoint file with velocity and pressure info and continuing from that last time step resolves this or if there's a more obvious way of making sure the output is now used as initial conditions for a new water current run. Open to any feedback or suggestions, thank you!
