Important

Before resetting the database, you must delete your account(s) from the dashboard. This is crucial because:

  • Deleting an account through the dashboard properly sends a Delete(Person) activity to all federated servers
  • This notifies other instances that your account has been deleted
  • If you just drop the database without doing this, other servers will still think your account exists, which can cause federation issues

Steps to reset

  1. Delete your account(s)

    • Go to your Hollo dashboard
    • Delete all accounts you've created
    • Wait for the deletion to complete (this ensures Delete(Person) activities are sent to other servers)
  2. Stop the Hollo server (e.g., Ctrl+C running in terminal)
