EmuSync is a lightweight tool that keeps your game saves consistent across different devices and operating systems.
If you're new to EmuSync, follow the Getting started process, starting with Installation.
Most game stores/providers have their own cloud sync, which is great if you purchase your games through that provider. Emulators, and games acquired through other means, aren't included in these syncs.
Many gamers use a mix of emulators and gaming devices, which means save files become scattered, duplicated, or lost entirely.
With EmuSync, there's no vendor lock-in, no account required, no subscription or paywall — just your files, your cloud provider, and your devices.
It doesn't matter which emulator you use, or which games you play — EmuSync works at the file level, so it’s compatible with virtually everything.
EmuSync acts as a thin layer between your local save folders and your cloud storage provider:
- You link a supported storage provider.
- EmuSync creates data in that provider to track your defined games.
- For each game, tell EmuSync where the save directory is for each of your connected devices.
- Let EmuSync automatically handle the syncing of your game saves OR manually choose when you sync the saves.
This approach keeps EmuSync:
- Free — no server hosting costs on our end.
- Portable — all metadata travels with your cloud storage provider.
- Independent — works with any emulator or game that stores files locally.
EmuSync is ideal for you if:
- You play games on emulators across more than one device.
- You play "Non-steam games" across more than one device.
- You want to have an additional layer of backup for your game saves.
