Files should already be displaying a file conflict dialog in these circumstances with options "Keep Newest", "Skip", "Cancel" or "Replace", which can be applied individually or to all the files. I'll check whether there has been a regression. |

An exception is that if you copy some files into their own folder then Files automatically renames them with a "..(copy)" suffix. |

I have done some research in various forums and the eOS Docs, but I couldn't find any answer to this:
When copying/cutting single or multiple files and the same file(s) already exist in the target directory, what is the standard behavior of the file manager?
(By testing, I figured it is likely "replace", but it shouldn't be up to the user to figure that out by trial and error)
Is it possible to display a dialog that asks me what I want do to, "replace", "skip", "rename" (ideally for each conflicting file)?
How to do it?
I am fairly new to elementaryOS and Linux in general and help is very much appreciated.
(Running elementary OS 8 with latest updates)
