This issue has been migrated from #6931.

The room ID shows up in /_matrix/client/r0/joined_rooms using the appservice's token, but when trying /_matrix/client/r0/rooms/!redacted:redacted.org/joined_members Synapse reports SynapseError: 403 - Appservice not in room.
