Your use case

What would you like to do?

As a user, I often try to share media from one app to another

Why would you like to do it?

To point something out to my contacts and chat partners.

How would you like to achieve it?

By using the OS share function and selecting EX as a share target.

However, in EX I can only select a single target and not multiple targets. This is different from WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal which all allow several targets.

The selection pattern follows the Signal design with the unfortunate radio buttons. This pattern is a bad choice here as

  • it requires an extra tap after the single possible selection so the app could have jumped into the relevant room straight
  • if we had multiple targets enabled, the radio button suggests a single choice, so the better pattern to follow is probably what WhatsApp or Telegram are doing

Have you considered any alternatives?

No response

Additional context

Can we please follow the mainstream standard unless we have a deeper insight or data that points into a better direction?

Are you willing to provide a PR?

No
