Reuse already existing group with same person #1157
Comments
This should already be the case and works for me. If it's not working for you, providing a detailed bug report would be helpful (making a new issue with the bug report template may be easiest). |
Hello, I use the progressive web app and when I create a conversation between two people, Element systematically creates a new one. In the case below I created three times the conversation with two people and a different conversation is created each time, Element does not seem to reuse the conversation |
@dbkr Just tested and I don't think this works with 3+ people (a group conversation started by selecting people in the direct message dialog). Is this a regression then? It does work for me if you're only creating a new DM between yourself and one other person. |
@Serizao To clarify, how many people are you trying to create a conversation with? Yourself + how many people? The issue description mentions "multiple people" but your latest reply says "between two people" |
I could observe the problem in discussions with me and two other people. |
Your use case
If we create message with multiple person (3 people total in my case) element create automatically a new channel. I think it's better if the channel is already create with same person to use it in priority
Have you considered any alternatives?
