Steps to reproduce

  1. Started with this issue on desktop
  2. My web session is now marked as unverified
  3. Trigger session verification from web
  4. Accept on Android
  5. Finish verification using QR code scan method

Outcome

What did you expect?

Web session is verified

What happened instead?

Web session is still showing as unverified even after apparently successful verification

Have not found a workaround yet.

Was the Android device already verified previously? If the Android device was also unverified, this is expected behavior and a known UI issue - element-hq/element-web#21919

Android session was verified but after investigating with Valere, we found that the Android session didn't have the Secure Backup set up

This was an android issue, then. It shouldn't have accepted the verification request.
