Steps to reproduce

  1. Get element client from play store
  2. Login there
  3. And see if you got any kind of notification from different channels

Outcome

What did you expect?

It should notify me whenever a message will come from a channel

What happened instead?

It didn't notify me at all, until I open the app then it showed me the new notifications.

thanks for raising, unfortunately I'm unable to reproduce the issue locally

there's a few steps that can help troubleshoot this

  • Running the Settings -> Notifications -> Troubleshoot Notifications and posting any failing steps here
  • Submitting logs via Report bug in the main screen menu
  • Allowing Element in any battery saving optimisations
  • Are you using a VPN or on a network with PiHole?

This happened to a friend of mine. It turned out to be their adblocker blocking the google domain "firebaseinstallations.googleapis.com". Some lists appear to flag it as a tracker
