[Enhancement]: Investigate whether macOS path for Elastic Endpoint is outdated #5791

Open

Description

Description

This issue is a spin-off from #5749.

In PR #5749, we received the following feedback from @brunerd:

I haven't used Path since they moved /Library/Elastic/Endpoint/elastic-endpoint inside the new app bundle /Library/Elastic/Endpoint/elastic-endpoint.app/Contents/MacOS/elastic-endpoint (Apple requirements for OSQuery to work I think ask, @aleksmaus if you wonder when/why. UPDATE: Change happened in v8).

This path (/Library/Elastic/Endpoint/elastic-endpoint) is mentioned in multiple places across our docs. We should investigate whether we need to replace all instances of that path with /Library/Elastic/Endpoint/elastic-endpoint.app/Contents/MacOS/elastic-endpoint, and if so, how far back this change should be backported to.
