Not sure if I'm just doing something stupid, but here's the error I'm getting.

vim 7.3 p1-547 on Ubuntu 12.10

 Error detected while processing /home/icholy/.vim/bundle/after/syntax/python.vim:
 line 7:
E28: No such highlight group name: pythonOperator

Completely purged my vim install along with ~/.vim and reinstalled via apt-get. Same issue.

Hmm... Exactly which vim package(s) have you installed? Do you have vim-runtime installed?
I checked on an Ubuntu 12.10 machine now and it seems like vim-tiny does not depend on vim-runtime that contains the base Python syntax file. Try installing vim-nox if you don't have it installed already and see if that fixes the problem.
