Using OBS is great if you need that kind of power. However, for a daily use, a simple app that sits in the tray and just creates a virtual camera that is connected to the iphone that'd be awesome! Any chance to have the camera source as a library that I could use to create that kind of app? I mean, I'd understand you'd not be interested in doing all the UI stuff for multiple operating systems but someone (like me) might be willing to do it.

That is definitely an interesting idea! The full scope of that idea is probably beyond my fork, which is meant just to be a port to Linux of the existing Mac/Windows OBS plugin. But it seems like something like that should be doable. It's beyond the time I currently have available to allocate to the idea, but it should be possible to adopt the source of this plugin to do it.
