Hidden resources

So v9.3 supposedly introduced a way to hide resources from the dashboard, but I cannot find anything about how to actually use this capability. Even a connection string added with AddConnectionString still shows in my dashboard, and those are supposed to be hidden by default if I'm reading the announcement correctly.
What do I have to do to de-clutter my dashboard?
