Which is why discord ideally should actually use API versioning properly, because if this only occurs in API V11 for example, bots on V10 unaware of this change can stay there until they refactor. |

not necessarily, it could be a separate API call. bots don't join more than one channel unless they ask for it |

Dude, this is really needed, also for music bots this would be great. (yes, music bots are against tos, but if there will be smth new soon, it would be cool). People can technically connect their voices through a bot, play radio or do anything else. |

I'm writing a bot to caption voice channels, and this would be really nice to have. Imagine if there were two deaf/hard of hearing users in a server who wanted to join different channels. Now, the server owner would have to invite two of the exact same bot to the server to serve their needs. If there were 3 different channels, 3 instances, and so forth. It just gets silly after a point. |

idea abandoned? I can't believe something like this isn't available yet. I plan to make a bot for the hearing impaired, a music bot, a match commentator in different rooms, but I’ll have to dance with a tambourine with a ton of bots. |

I dont think it was really a planned idea sadly. Would be nice, i run 2 clones of the same music bot to have a music bot for each of my main voice channels |

Often we organize internal tournaments and it would be nice for spectators to be able to sit in a separate voice channel and have the voice chat of both teams relayed to them |

Currently, bots are restricted to having only one instance in one voice channel so they can't be in multiple voice channels at once. Allowing bots to have multiple instances in multiple voice channels opens up the gates for new bot ideas with voice channels.
Admins will be able to effectively moderate voice channels by using bots to record and store content from multiple voice channels at the same time.
And, I can't really see any disadvantage with adding this.
