Yes, it's the way. You can get another whatsapp and add it to group - it'll help. |

This might be impossible and against the way how whatsapp works but let me ask anyway, you never know.
I send messages to a group in whatsapp about the status of a service. In this group I am the only group member.
Everything works fine and as expected.
But the consequence of basically sending a message to myself is that these messages are (I think) automatically read. In any case, they are not showing in the whatsapp badge as unread or part of the number of messages unread. Hope I make sense.
What I would like to have is me sending message to a group where I am part of (and most of the time am the only member of) to behave as if this was sent from someone else then me. I.e. it shows in whatsapp as new messages. In the desktop app, the mobile phone app, etc.
Right now I have the messages in my groups but unless I conscientiously check the group(s) I will never know a message was sent.
For context, one of the groups I have is for Uptime Kuma where notifications are sent via webhook to that group.
If a service goes down I will get messages in my group but I will never see this, I need to go to that group and check if there was an issue or not.
Again, this could be the way how whatsapp works and it probably considers messages sent from your phonenumber/account as not unread or counting towards badge unread numbers because, well, you did send that message so you already know about this message 😀
PS: this is not on a Whatsapp Businness account but a personal Whatsapp account
Thanks!
