My undergrad research at UENF's PIBIC nota 10 program
I've conceived and co-designed with my advisor Prof. Dr. Annabell Del Real Tamariz, the Project Driven Data Science research project to encompass my own and potential other colleagues' research in Data Science at UENF.
-
In the first year of my research I reviewed data science as a field, including its history, methods, tools, and concepts.
- An exact definition is an ongoing debate. Still, we can pragmatically define Data Science as the interdisciplinary field responsible for applying and expanding the tools and methods used to gain insight from data.
- I've found the fantastic Data Science Work-Model to orient the practice.
- And Greater Data Science to systematize the broad field of data science.
- I've also taken Kaggle's courses: intro and intermediate machine learning.
- and did the elusive ML hello world.
-
In the second year I developed "AcaDem", a data extraction and analysis script to generate information about the students of the university, specially to help course coordinators make informed decisions about subject offerings and resource allocation. I've also organized and taught an introductory summer course on data science, helping students gain the skills and knowledge needed to start in this field.

Currently I'm researching active inference, a promising area for understanding cognition and building better tools to expand ours.
