Help with a small issue on Cypress Github Action?

Currently trying to get Cypress up and running with parallel builds but hitting some issues. I have a feeling I am doing something dumb and missing something simple (hopefully) 😅

If anyone had any ideas or could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

The error I'm getting is:

After more testing I'm really struggling to see where I've gone wrong. If I change install: false to be install: true it all works as expected. Of course this defeats the purpose of parallel runs.

Could it be something wrong with cypress-io/github-action@v4.2.0 🤔

I have also tried npm vs yarn but same result.

I have also tried setting install command to be yarn.

the suspicious line seems to be next: not found. it may be an issue with devDependency vs dependency.

maybe have a look to your package.json file and see if next was not moved somewhere where it’s not supposed to be. it could be that while you are running things on CI and doing that build step, you are actually only using some of the dependencies. just a guess, but had a similar issue recently. I believe the problem is actually in the build step, not in Cypress

I have next as a devDependancy as I don't have any dependency 🤔

Oddly it works fine when not trying to do parallel 🤷‍♂️

Did you ever find a solution to this? I am seeing it randomly but never where all the jobs fail.

3 of the 4 parallel jobs pass here where one randomly fails for the The process '${this.toolPath}' failed with exit code ${this.processExitCode} error.

The error message from cypress-io/github-action is not particularly user-friendly. 🙁

Add the following debug environment variable to your workflow to see if a user-defined script might be causing the error condition:
