Remove Google Optimize integration as Google is sunsetting the platform without a replacement #2239

After September 30, 2023, Google Optimize will no longer be available to use.

Seems like Google is hoping that this functionality will make its way into GA4, but does not have this functionality yet and it sounds like it won't have it prior to sunsetting Google Optimize. With the rest of the features lacking in GA4 (and promises of feature parity by Q1 2022) let's not hold our breath that this functionality will ever return.

This integration to be removed is in the following files with google_optimize_id

  • /libs/Utilities/Analytics.php
  • /libs/Utilities/Warnings.php
  • /libs/Options/Metaboxes.php
  • /libs/Options/Options.php
  • /libs/Admin/Admin.php

Google Optimize is now officially sunset.

All reference to Google Optimize have been removed from Nebula now, but still looking to find an equivalent replacement.

This service has a free tier for A/B testing specifically. Might be worth looking into:
