when i try to change the pronunciation of the alphabet

When I use the editor, I try to change the pronunciation of the alphabet and find an unexpected outcome.I think it shouldn't work because the pronunciation of the alphabet is fixed just like you won't use A's pronunciation to pronounce B. When the user try to modify the pronunciation of the alphabet, I think it should not work and need to show some error message will make it better
