0.5.4 : in progress
- documentation fixes
- tiny code clean-up
0.5.3 : 24.10.2016
- another code cleanup of the worst horrible stuff that I
wrote ten years ago
0.5.2 : 23.10.2016
- performed a few fixes in the documentation
0.5.1 : 04.06.2016
- URL fixes in doc/doc.tex
- cleanup of the ugliest old and crappy code parts; did not
touch that code for ~10 years
0.5.0 : 06.10.2006
- Makefile: added 'install' target
- vstt can now start s2f: 2 new vstt parameters:
1. -c <port>. You can use it to specify the local
listen/connect port for s2f. This parameter
starts s2f (in client mode, if -s is not
given).
2. -s. This parameter starts s2f in server mode.
0.4.5 : 25.09.2006
- ICMP reliability implemented
- code cleanup for beta version
0.4.0 : 21.09.2006
- implemented ICMP protocol
- base code
- send icmp messages
- icmp receive function implemented
- icmp data handling implemented (sent too large pkts
in many small pkts)
- s2f now uses auto-config for input/output fifos from main.h
like the rest of vstt code already did. in clear this means,
that a user doesn't has to call s2f with -i <fifoA> -o
<fifoB> in future, what makes it much simplier to use s2f!
0.3.0 : 18.09.2006
- implemented peudo protocol "none". it is very fast because
it sends the plain-data. use this, if you don't have to hide
and just want to tunnel a connection trough other ports.
- Makefile fix: remove 'writer' too while doing the 'clean'
target
- added documentation in doc/ including doc.tex, Makefile and
a pre-compiled doc.pdf for the user.
0.2.0 : 31.08.2006
- udp client/server/peer system implemented
- new tool: reader (just for debugging and playing around)
- new tool: s2f to connecting sockets with fifos as clients
and servers. I made a first pop3 tunnel test using s2f this
combination:
On the smtp server, s2f connects as client to the
smtp-server and talks with it. it accepts data from and
sends data to vstt (using fifos), what sends it to the
telnet client host using the pop3 tunnel.
On the telnet client host, vstt talks with the s2f tool
running as server. this is needed because the telnet client
has to connect to it.
this makes a connection possibly on a cool way. the smtp
server is only accessible at IP 127.0.0.1, not via the
network interface, so nobody can connect to it from a remote
connection. but since the s2f-client runs localy on the
SMTP-server, the telnet host can connect to it using vstt.
/---- SMTP-SERVER (listen() on localhost) ----\ [vstt-pop3-tun] /-------- TELNET CLIENT HOST -------------\
| smtp-server <---> s2f (as client) <--> vstt-+----------------+-vstt <--> s2f (as server) <--> telnet cli.|
\---------------------------------------------/ \------------------------------------------/
0.1.0 : 28.08.2006
- base system done
- tcp client/server/peer system implemented: implemented a
full duplex connection using 2 servers + 2 clients for each
tunnel (transparent for the user)
- pop3 tunneling implemented
