  • In this milestone, updates to UNIX options should be made to allow for automation without python scripting. This can be implemented using a shell I/O format (similar to cadence or bash). This will allow users to use Morpheus as a standalone tool rather than as a virtuoso extension (by running its own cadence session in the background). The goal is to create a fully functional Command Line Version of Morpheus with all python features available via terminal. The design will follow the GNU standards. https://www.gnu.org/prep/standards/standards.html#Command_002dLine-Interfaces The GUI will use this command line to perfom commands. The GNU Graphical Interfaces states, "In addition, please provide a command-line interface to control the functionality. (In many cases, the graphical user interface can be a separate program which invokes the command-line program.) This is so that the same jobs can be done from scripts."

  • This milestone's goal is to update and clarify the way users interact with morpheus. The main 3 users to worry about are as follows: Python users: who would want to expand and use python scripts to interact with Morpheus. Cadence users: who would want to use Morpheus as an extension to Cadence. Automation users: who would like to use Morpheus as a standalone tool for testing or grading large amounts of designs without GUI.

  • Create save files for Morpheus that store the current state of maestro and schematic views. Add the save and load features to GUI and add unix option to load state. Create cadence save file view that opens Morpheus. Add Ctrl+S shortcut to create save file (or update save file)
