Tasks not showing up as tasks, just links to another note

Let's say if I am in note A, and I created a sub task T attached to this note, via task -> TaskNote quick convert button. Sometimes, this task does not show up as a TaskNote, rather just as a reference to T (like [[T]]). This is then not recognized as a sub task either in my note, or on the Kanban board. Restarting Obsidian fixes this issue, but then starts happening again.

Can someone help me out here?

I have the opposite requirement - so in case anyone knows. Is it possible to have the wikilink to a note only show up as a regular wikilink and not as an Inline TaskNote. I want to retain all the task functionality (so I don't want to remove the tag for task) but I don't want the inline link format appearing in notes referring to the task.

An option would be helpful; because sometimes the active task status is useful, but sometimes (eg. past Daily Notes) it's confusing.

For example, where Medicine is a daily repeating task incomplete for today, the line - [x] [[Medicine]], on yesterday's Daily Note 2025-09-23 displays,

• 🔘 Medicine 🗓️ Sep 24

Where the current status is not desired, an option to use an alias, eg. - [x] [[Medicine|Meds]] for a simpler link would be helpful:

• Meds

I don't know if an alias is the best solution, as one might like to have a file named Medicine X that displays as 🔘 Take X 🗓️ Sep 24 , but it's the one that came to mind for intuitive consistency, since text after | is expected to be displayed. Maybe there could be an override to handle the other case: eg. [[Medicine|Take X(show_TaskNote)]]?

I wonder if a plugin or other setting might be causing the converted task to save its note in the current folder rather than the TaskNotes folder. I'm finding that is happening on my end, although I'm not experiencing (at the moment) issues with it showing up as a TaskNote, but it does leave a bullet behind at the beginning of the line which is not quite expected but easily fixed.
