Hot reloading isn't working for my app in the iOS simulator or Android emulator. It was working fine when I was using metro, but switching to repack it hasn't worked, despite having:
devServer: {hot: true}
I don't see anything useful in the logs, other than [HMRClient] Forced reload. What can I do to troubleshoot?
I don't understand why this would break hot reloading, but removing that line fixed it 🤔
I had that line because I thought I needed it to allow physical devices to connect when debugging, but apparently it was unnecessary. I just need to run yarn react-native start --host <my_ip> when running on a physical device. yarn react-native start without any args works for a simulator. Hot reloading now works in both cases.
I do wish the error messaging was more informative, though.
