I am not sure if I can copy codes online for my project. For example, I found FSL has some code on the internet, let us say it is a funtion defined by A. In this situation, can I copy it and use it directly? Or should I cite the original source? Thanks.

@zhangerjun if there is a LICENSE file at the root of the project, then you should check it to see what you can do with the core.
If there is not a license, but there are some instructions regarding attribution somewhere in the code, you may choose to follow them. But in absence of a License, do and donts fall into a gray zone.
As far as I understand, you refer to a script that wraps some FSL functions. If you know whose script, it is, you can cite both that author and the FSL. Attributing contributions (when you can) is always a nice act of courtesy.
