Do not open the Following feed by default

Recently, I've noticed that the app likes to automatically switch back to the Following feed once I change accounts. I feel like this is undesirable behaviour, as a user might not want to open that feed by default. For example, I have quite a few user lists with my closer acquaintances that I like to look through first, before changing to the Following feed.

In my opinion, this change should either be reverted or made more customisable. For example, a new option could be added to the Feed Options menu to set the currently viewed feed as the default (with an ‘Open last feed by default’ option in the app's settings that overrides this choice).

Alternatively, a similar drop-down could be added in the app's settings:

Feed to open by default:

• Following (Default)
• Topmost feed in My Feeds
• Last opened feed

(This sounds a bit clunkier in my opinion, though.)

I think what’s happening here is that this setting is currently app-scoped rather than account-scoped. So whenever it can’t find the previous selection for the new user, it resets. What we should do is change the setting to be user-scoped. Along with a few other things (like search history). A pull request tackling this would be welcome.

That sounds like a bug, then – because this can easily happen on the same client, without me tabbing out, and the account-switching happening within minutes.

If you move the following feed further down the list in the settings or put another feed at the top, it'll open that up first. The Settings > Content and Media > Manage saved feeds.

I don't use the Following feed.

And because of this it defaults to a list used pinned at the top of the pinned feeds list.

Not for me. I have the Following feed pretty far down the list, and it consistently opens that one first.
