Unable to Generated Google Key for mapping file on BaseSpace App

A user was trying to start a QIIME Visualization app session on BaseSpace, but was unable to start analysis. The specific error is: "This is not a valid spreadsheet keey, please revise the documentation in this tutorial: http://qiime.org/tutorials/remote_mapping_files.html"

After some digging, it looks like Google Docs does not provide the 44-digit API key when publishing to the web. key= is no longer in the URL, and the equivalent sequence is 86 characters in length. Is this a known issue? And is there a workaround to this?

@ruchan you are correct, the workaround for this is to use the 44 characters found in the URL. For example for this URL:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1b-mmbmp695Dtjkral4F6kJVE7jaKeQ_uB1KcfW7z26s/edit#gid=394619294

You would use: 1b-mmbmp695Dtjkral4F6kJVE7jaKeQ_uB1KcfW7z26s.

Sadly, that was the one place that I didn't search for when looking for a 44-characters.

Use the html link without http… It has 44 letters
